NICE Convention 2018 – 2nd St. Florian Juggling Festival

When?

May 10–13, 2018
(starting Thursday at 1 p.m., closing Sunday at 3 p.m.)

Where?

Neue Mittelschule/Florianer Halle, Wiener Straße 44, 4490 St. Florian

St. Florian is located in Upper Austria, about 10 km south-southeast of Linz. The convention takes place in and around a school building. At the jugglers’ disposal will be a gym, class rooms (to stay overnight), a camping area, a large juggling meadow, and more. (See the convention’s homepage for detailed information about the site.)

How to get there?

By train and bus:

Take the Westbahnstrecke (one of Austria’s main railway lines which connects e.g. Salzburg and Vienna) to Hauptbahnhof (= central train station) Linz. From bus terminal B8 (close to the train station) take bus 410 and get off at Gendarmerieplatz St.Florian. From there it’s an five minute walk to the convention site. Signs will direct you.

By car:

Take the autoroute A1 (SalzburgVienna) in direction Linz. Leave it at junction 160 Asten/St. Florian. Turn right at Ipfstraße and follow it. Keep right at service station Eni and follow Wiener Straße. From there signs will direct you to the festival site.

Housing:

In the school building:

Classrooms will be adopted as sleeping halls. (For the first 150 preregistrations the indoor overnight stay is guaranteed.) Bring your own sleeping bag and mat. Lavatories and rest rooms are to be found in the school building.

Camping:

There will be a camping area on site. Please, bring your own tent.

Food:

An evening meal on Thursday and breakfast on the other days will be provided at the school’s canteen. Breakfast is included in the convention fee.

Festival program:

Open stage (Friday), two gala shows in the old cinema of St. Florian (Saturday), juggling games (Sunday), workshops. Furthermore the gym is open around-the-clock for free juggling.
As a convention special you can join a guided tour through the St. Florian Monastery on Friday morning. The monastery is one of the most impressive examples of Baroque architecture in Austria. You also get a chance to listen to the famous Bruckner organ in the basilica.
